Summary

In this class video, Kerry goes over how Isaiah 58 teaches about the fast, and the importance of doing it with true intent. This represents a change for Judah, who will have a change of heart, leading to the exultant chapters following this.

We are grateful for our sponsor, Lisa Spice, and for Alexia Muhlestein, who edited this video, and for Rich Nicholls, who composed and plays the music for the podcast.

will see and know he's saying that the house of jacob is sinning they're They're transgressing and sinning,

and he is laying this charge before them.

1:20.5

but they're doing all the stuff they're supposed to do,

1:24.1

like going to him daily,

1:26.4

I would guess, in permanent sacrifice. And as a nation,

1:31.5

they're trying to, in some ways, focus in his ways, and they're doing the ordinances they're

1:38.9

supposed to do. But they, they're going through the motions we could see in all sorts of

1:50.6

things they're going through the motions and yet he says they're sinning and so we have to

1:56.3

ask ourselves how do we do that could these be descriptions of us that we're going through the motions?

2:02.4

We're doing our daily scripture study. We go to sacrament meeting. We pay our fast offerings
