Very good morning to you. It's three minutes after ten and quite a lot to get through today.

I do like that story that Nick was just discussing at the end of his program about the idea that straight people shouldn't play gay roles suggested by Richard E. Grant.

And it sort of feels as if it tilts at similar territory to the tale from the end of last week of the British Sikh couple

who have won £120,000 in damages after being racially discriminated against when a council wouldn't allow them, didn't allow them to adopt a white child.

I've such fertile territory that. I hope we have time properly to examine it together. In terms of evidence you can bring to the table that I may ordinarily miss myself, I would wonder what the state of your school is.

These thousands of buildings in need of repair, in some cases urgently,

I'll try and paint a radio picture of what these problems look like.

But first, actually not first. Bear with me a minute.

I was toying with the idea this morning of asking...

Because I'm struggling to understand the election.

I don't mean that in a purely intellectual sense.

I just mean it in a big picture kind of sense.

I don't quite get it.

I've got nuggets of insight, if you like,

or nuggets of understanding at least,

or what passes for understanding in my bonds. But the really big stuff doesn't seem to be

connecting. It's as if the wheels are turning, but the cogs aren't connected. I have said to you

before, I baffled as to how Boris Johnson's conservative, or Boris Johnson in particular, is campaigning as if they've been in opposition for the last decade.

Even this morning talking to Nick, he talked about a new administration coming in, which, while technically correct, does seem just odd.

If you're complaining about problems in the country and you have been running the country for nine or 10 years,
