Every week, we are putting culture, politics, and law on a

I'm glad you've joined me today for this episode of God, Law, and Liberty, and I'm honored to have you with me.

And as I was thinking about what I would cover today in light of what I've

covered recently about the Neo Covenanters and the Neo Baptist. I might talk about another group that I see pressing

into the world of politics pressing for legislative outcomes that I alluded to in

I think the first episode on the subject when I first talked about the Neo Covenantors and that's the Neo Theonomists because to be honest I find

that group the hardest among the three to work with in the political sphere.

And I think it's really because of the cosmology, the Neothonimus operate under, and the historical perspective

that they bring to the table, the absence of an historical. the And I guess I would describe the Neothianimists as the people who rightly get the conjunction of the word Theo and God and

nomos law that we live in a world that is governed, ordered, according to the law of God,

is directed according to the law of God, but who tend to see the law in the very way

that Jonathan Burnside said most Christians see the law today even biblical law as commands from a

sovereign not understanding the depth and breadth of the word, Torah, that is translated law, goes far beyond that to teaching,

to wisdom begins with, in the beginning God created is the first element of law

that the Bible provides to us and instead they tend to see it as commands like the

Benthamite would see a law. This is the law that's what you do and so because of that perspective there's usually their way or the highway because

they've got the command down so well.

And, but I think it's really, really important

to understand what's going on in the world when you begin to engage in the sphere of politics and law.
