Welcome back to the Dirt Show. Today we have a show that will alienate everybody. I'm

0:08.5

talking about what shouldn't shouldn't be taught or encouraged in public schools, in

0:15.8

public elementary schools and high schools, but I want to focus primarily on elementary

0:21.5

schools and middle schools. So here's a summary. The right wing wants prayer in the school,

0:29.5

Christian prayer. Think you get it, but they'll settle for what's called non-denominational

0:34.1

prayer, but you got to pray to God according to the right every single day in school. But

0:38.8

the last thing they want is any mention of sex or race. So, you know, that's the right

0:44.6

1:30.4

prayer in the schools. And as far as the first amendment is concerned, here's what he said,

1:36.5

don't tell me about no separation of church and state. Hey, Mayor Adams, I'm going to

1:44.2

tell you about separation of church and state. It's in the Constitution. It's the first

1:50.8

thing in the amendments to the Constitution. The First Amendment Congress shall make no

1:57.4

law respecting an establishment of religion in the Supreme Court. Over the years has interpreted

2:03.9

that to me. No, you can't have prayer in the public schools. Prayer is an establishment

2:09.8

of religion. It's a preference for religion over non-religion people. No, that's not

2:16.5

true. A very significant number of people in the United States don't believe in formal
