Does God still speak to people today like He did in the Bible?

Today's podcast kicks off a series that answers that question.

Would you turn to the 81st Psalm and I want us to begin reading in verse 8 and read through the rest of that Psalm.

Psalm 81.

And this is referring to God's word concerning the nation of Israel and what His hearts desire for them had they been willing to listen to Him.

And He begins by saying in verse 8,

Here are all my people and I will admonish you.

Oh Israel, if you would listen to me, let there be no strange God among you,

nor shall you worship any foreign God.

I the Lord and your God who brought you up from the land of Egypt.

Open your mouth wide and I will fill it.

But my people did not listen to my voice and Israel did not obey me.

So I gave them over to the stubbornness of their heart to walk in their own devices.

All that my people would listen to me that Israel would walk in my ways.

I would quickly subdue their enemies and turn my hand against their adversaries.

Those who hate the Lord would pretend obedience to Him and their time of punishment would be forever.

But I would feed you with the finest of the wheat and with honey from the rock I would satisfy you.

I believe one of the most valuable lessons you and I ever learned in this Christian life is how to listen to God.

Because I believe that is so important, I want to begin to their series in title listening to God.

And I'm praying that God will speak through my heart to many of you that maybe at least help you learn how to listen to what He wants to say to you.

Now the first question that you and I might ask is the thing we have to settle as this is God still talking.
