Summary

America's southern border is a mess. The Biden administration's dereliction leaves every state and every neighborhood at greater risk of crime and suffering losses from the deadly poisons trafficked into the U.S.

But what if I told you another U.S. border is under serious threat - not from millions of unvetted migrants but from a dictator who loves to rattle his saber and has a history of invading his neighbors?

In recent weeks, we've seen Russian military jets blatantly violating U.S. airspace over Alaska. President Vladimir Putin has also suggested that certain lands that once belonged to the Russian empire should be part of the country again. And more than a few observers have suggested that Putin includes Alaska on that list.

So how serious is the Russian threat to Alaska? Is Putin just posturing or does he have something else in mind? And is the U.S. prepared militarily if Russia gets even more aggressive?

Today, Sara explores all of these issues and much more with L. Shane Land, a disabled combat veteran of the Iraq War. Mr. Land also served as a U.S. Air Force security specialist, a U.S. Army intelligence analyst, and a civilian federal intelligence analyst for the Department of the Army. He is based in Alaska.

0:14.2	Is another U.S. Order region in danger? Are you paying attention? Are you watching the news? Are you hearing what is happening? Not in Ukraine, not in Israel, not on the US southern border.
0:21.6	But in Alaska? In Alaska. We are not paying attention people. We are not paying
0:29.7	attention. I know you may say to yourself like, well could be in Alaska what's going on over there
0:36.0	what's happening in the region of Alaska well we have had Russian jets you, flying overhead invading our airspace there. We have seen, you know, the Chinese
0:48.0	and Russian military naval operations right off our coast in Alaska, and believe me, our U.S.
0:55.9	intelligence and Department of Defense are now starting to pay attention.
1:01.4	But are we ready? Are we capable of defending ourselves? Look at what's happening on the
1:08.0	southern border. Our president just opened up that border over the last three and a half years,
1:14.3	wide open to not only the criminal cartels and the human trafficking organizations,
1:20.6	but to our adversaries, like China and others like Iran.
1:27.0	And now we see what's happening in Alaska.
1:30.0	Believe it or not, Russia is only 25 miles off the coast of Alaska folks, and if the Kremlin saw an opportunity to attack America,
1:40.0	he could inflict a ton of damage before we even knew what happened.
1:46.0	And why?
1:48.0	Because we're not paying attention.
1:50.0	We're not taking care of America first. We are not listening to the people who know what is happening in Alaska and those are the people that live there
2:00.7	both former military current current military, as well as indigenous Alaskans and people who are part of their defense forces.
2:09.0	Russia has divisions specifically trained in Arctic combat and the Kremlin would love to get
2:16.6	its hands on our oil and other natural resources. We know that. Why hasn't leadership in Washington taken any action whatsoever to protect our country?
