Summary

The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (03/28/2023):

3:05pm- On Tuesday, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) repeatedly asked Sec. Mayorkas if the record number of illegal migrants crossing the U.S. Southern border amounted to a “crisis.” Sec. Mayorkas refused to confirm Sen. Cruz’ assertions.

3:15pm- The Wall Street Journal Editorial Board documented a “strange house call” the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) made to independent journalist Matt Taibbi’s home—unannounced “the same day Mr. Taibbi testified before the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government.” The WSJ Editorial Board writes, “[t]he taxman left a note instructing Mr. Taibbi to call the IRS four days later. Mr. Taibbi was told in a call with the agent that both his 2018 and 2021 tax returns had been rejected…the curious timing of this visit, on the heels of the FTC demand that Twitter turn over names of journalists, raises questions about potential intimidation.” Read the full editorial here: https://www.wsj.com/articles/irs-matt-taibbi-twitter-files-jim-jordan-daniel-werfel-lina-khan-84ee518?mod=hp_opin_pos_2#cxrecs_s

4:30pm- On Monday, a 28-year-old assailant killed six people, including three children at Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee—a private Christian elementary school. The alleged shooter was a former student of the school and identified as a transgender man—and according to a report from the New York Times, she was being treated for “an emotional disorder” and her parents “felt that their child ‘should not own weapons.’” While speaking with members of the press, Nashville Police Chief John Drake said that investigators have not yet confirmed a motive for the attack. 5:20pm- Henry watches ESPN during Rich’s show…every day. PLUS the Mystery Movie Clip! Did Henry pick an obscene film scene?

5:30pm- The Wall Street Journal Editorial Board documented a “strange house call” the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) made to independent journalist Matt Taibbi’s home—unannounced “the same day Mr. Taibbi testified before the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government.” The WSJ Editorial Board writes, “[t]he taxman left a note instructing Mr. Taibbi to call the IRS four days later. 5:40pm- According to a report from Luke Rosiak of The Daily Wire, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is not treating the shooting at Covenant School in Nashville, TN as an act of domestic terrorism. You can read more here: https://www.dailywire.com/news/fbi-isnt-treating-nashville-shooting-as-domestic-terrorism

6:05pm- In a series of Tweets, political commentator Greg Price highlighted the “terrifying” details hidden within the bipartisan Bill S.686—the proposed legislation to ban TikTok known as The RESTRICT Act. According to some reports, it gives federal government officials the authority to access and monitor the personal accounts (including emails and texts) of anyone they deem a risk. Equally astounding, a minimum fine of $250,000 and 20 years in prison could be brought against any who illegally access banned applications, like TikTok, through a virtual private network (VPN).

6:40pm- The City of Philadelphia held a press conference on Tuesday afternoon to address an estimated 8,000 gallons of water-soluble latex finishing solution which spilled into Otter Creek in Bucks County, PA on Friday. City officials stated that the “Philadelphia Water Department has declared Philadelphia’s water remains safe to drink and use and will not be impacted by the spill in Bucks County. With data showing no threat to public health, the City is ending the ongoing advisories about monitoring at the Baxter Drinking Water Treatment Plant.” You can read more about the city’s announcement here: https://www.phila.gov/2023-03-26-citys-response-to-spill-of-a-latex-product-into-the-delaware-river/
