It's been a little too close for comfort for all Notre Dame fans, but not many teams have led and controlled a game all three weeks, as have the Irish

in 2018.

Over more than 171 minutes of 180 minutes, Nordame has been in the lead. They haven't trailed.

That's a really good sign, the inability to finish both offensively and defensively.

I think I might have given the defense a little

bit too much credit or too much of a break, I think, after the Vanderbilt game. But I do think that,

you know, the minutes are really piling up on them. I think time of possession in the second half is

like 52 minutes to 38 minutes for the opposition. And, you know, and some of the conditions that Nardame has been playing in,

the first game and the third game, it was extremely hot and humid.

And the tranquiles and the loves and guys like that are playing all those snaps.

So it's becoming more difficult for them,

but I think the offense is the one that's exacerbating the problem.

This was the first game that I watched that I thought Notre Dame might lose it. Yes, that's a great place. Michigan and Ball State, for all the ridiculousness that was happening in the second half, Winnevich and Gary, and then whatever Ball State was doing, that I never felt like that game. Notre Dame was going to lose either of those games. And I'm not saying I thought Notre Dame was going to lose to Vanderbilt in the fourth quarter,

but I thought they definitely could lose to Vanderbilt.

You didn't even think about it in the first two games.

It was not a thought at all.

But when Justin you missed that field goal, I was like, okay, this may go into the dustbin of Syracuse and Connecticut and just Duke and terrible

home losses that I've watched in the last decade. And I think that, you know, look, to

Notre Dame's credit, they overcame, I think, a Dante Vaughan pass interference penalty, and then the

fourth down play where Vanderbilt had exactly the matchup they wanted with their number
