but obviously the news with Tyler Butner has prompted us to engage in the conversation, not taking questions

today, just going to have a chat amongst the three of us. I editorialized on the decision yesterday.

Tim O'Malley did as well and provided an instant analysis feature a couple days ago.

Tim, why don't you, why don't you jump in and share the thoughts that are at the

forefront of your mind with regard to Tyler Butner entering the transfer portal. Yeah, it's funny because,

I mean, I was kind of the second they got Sam Hartman. I mentioned, I don't think Tyler Buckner

will be here in 2024, despite three years of eligibility.

And yet I was still surprised by the timing of it.

I felt I was still taken aback a little bit by the fact that he immediately announced

Transfer Portal after the Blue Goal game.

It might have been because the Blue Goal game was so unsatisfying for Tyler Buckner,

Tyler Buckner fans, Notre Dame fans that wanted to see, if not real competition,

if you're being honest with yourself, intellectually, a very good backup quarterback and Tyler

Buckner.

They didn't get to see that.

I think we got to see it one time in the spring out of two chances.

I had high hopes for Buckner staying, and I never thought he would because logic always

wins and logic includes human nature in college football.
