I'm Tim Preacher with Tim O'Malley from IRIS Illustrated,

and we're joined by Pete Sampson of the Athletic.

The three of us are in Jacksonville,

the day before Nordame takes on South Carolina in the Gator Bowl.

We had an opportunity today to meet with Marcus Freeman and Captain's Jared Patterson and J.D.

Bertrand.

We got a whole bunch of stuff to talk about from that.

And, of course, we're going to preview Nordame v. South Carolina.

But before we get to that, I know there's been a clamoring uh on irish illustrator on our message board

to provide more nil input and we were told that pete sampson and matt fortuna of the shamrock

did a tremendous job of addressing that and we have pete sampson with us as we usually

and uh what a coincidence that is and uh and Pete, I would like to throw it to you to just kind of summarize for the Irish illustrated listeners, subscribers, followers, how you and Matt portrayed how Notre Dame is handling NIL.

Yeah. So we were talking sort of post-signing

day because obviously that was like the elephant in the room, right, with Marcus Freeman on

signing day and Tim, you asked about acquisition fees. And that really wasn't what we were talking

about. It was more about Notre Dame, the institution, and their embrace of

NIL, like public embrace of NIL, which I think it's been like, I think Luke Worm might be

overstating sort of how much they've embraced it. You know, it's so, and I think it's we, you know, on that part, Shamrock or this podcast,

I think we're always talking about like how Notre Dame can do things differently or enhance what

they're doing, but still be Notre Dame. And I think a lot of the NIL conversation has sort

of jumped the tracks to why isn't Notre Dame paying
