Bill is here to update me on the Yazidis. You will recall this is a small religious culture that at one

time was on a mountain in Iraq. Traditionally they've been moved around. This whole part of the Middle East since the Ottoman Empire has been in turmoil because the sovereign borders don't necessarily fit and mostly they do not fit with the history of the

subsets, the groups, the religions in the Mesopotamia, the vastness of Mesopotamia and one of them is the Gizidis you might recall

This is in the summer of 2014

It was attention by the White House momentarily to evacuate some people who were fleeing.

The marauders, the outrage of the marauders who were slaughtering the men and kidnapping the women, murdering whoever

resisted. And Bill was there afterwards when there was an effort to secure that part of the world from the ISIS which no longer

exist in Iraq. But the Azidi's fled, those who could. Some of the women were taken into slavery. The The young men and women who were ISIS have scattered. Some are dead, some are on the run, some

have returned to their countries in Europe. I'm interested in the Yazidi and Bill is going to introduce us to a video that's available.

He participated in it and tell the story.

Bill I've done the best I can to recover the Yazidis because it was a very hectic time there was no transparency

whatsoever. You tell me there are Yazidis in the US now, welcomed by the US

government. Where are they? Yes, good day, John, and thank you.

They are in Houston, Texas, Omaha, Nebraska, and Buffalo, New York.

And our U.S. government, going over a 10 year period,

they have welcomed the Yazidi people,

which tragically, this is not their first genocide.

They talk about the 70 genocides of the Yazidi people,

even predating the Ottoman Empire back in the 1400s. and because the Yazidis are polytheistic and they worship a peacock

angel called Melik Toss and it comes out of Zoroastrianism then they are
