I'm John Batchel with my colleague Jonathan Shanzer of the Foundation for Defensive Democracy.

The death of Nasrallah, the death of a man whose name I didn't get because he was dead before I could cover his taking over of his bail-ah.

Now a man named Qasam, who I'm told is associated with propaganda, with a television channel.

He is now the head of Hezbollah.

However, I'm also told that he's no military figure.

He's a man who deals in adjutant prop.

Jonathan, is this significant that they're not only running out of warriors, they're running out

of credible politicians as well. This is a spin doctor. It is. Nym Kossum is exactly that.

He was the guy who ran Hisbalah's television station called Almanar, literally the beacon in Arabic.

This was a television station, by the way, that used to operate here in the United States.

It was ultimately shut down by the work of some of my FD colleagues, and I think the world is

better off for it.

But he has continued in his propaganda efforts over the years.

He has, I think, made a name for himself in Lebanon, in the Arab world.

By the way, his book is available on Amazon.com, if you can believe it, it's called

Hezbollah, a story from within.

And he is not of the same talent as Hassan Nasrallah. He does not have the same kind

of charisma. He does not have the same kind of strategic mind. All of this is going to make it,

I think, a bit harder for his Bala to operate internally.

What I think we can probably say, though, is that this is a man that will be co-opted by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, by the IRGC, by the Islamic Republic.

The Iranians are going to have more control over him than they did over Hassan Nasrallah,

who certainly had an ego and had ideas of his own that
