Iran has suspended talks with the U.S. over Israel's actions in Lebanon. That's according to the

semi-official Tasneem News Agency. Earlier today, Israel instructed its military to strike

Beirut's Dahi district, which is considered a Hezbollah stronghold. An Israeli source says, Israeli plans to strike Beirut's Dahié district, which is considered a Hezbollah stronghold.

Iran is saying that as a part of the broader ceasefire deal with the United States, it was absolutely conditional that there should be a ceasefire between Israel

and Hezbollah in Lebanon. That was something President Trump several weeks ago put a huge

amount of pressure on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to achieve that. It was in place.

But over the past few days and hours, Prime Minister Netanyahu has decided to reach deeper at Hezbollah targets

into Lebanon, going closer to the capital Beirut. So the reaction from Iran is to say no more

talks. They're also saying that they're going to completely close down the strait of

Homo. It seemed pretty closed by their accounts anyway, but they're adding

further emphasis on that. Does this lead to a military escalation? It's a lot more tenuous than it was

before. This all comes as the U.S. and Iran traded new strikes over the weekend. U.S. Central

Command says it carried out overnight defensive strikes on Iranian military sites,

while also saying it, quote,

successfully intercepted two Iranian ballistic missiles targeting American forces based in Kuwait.

It added no American personnel were harmed.

Meanwhile, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed to have struck U.S. air base used

to launch an attack on a telecommunications tower.

That's according to a statement carried by several Iranian state-run news outlets.
