Hongline, conference of presidents, major American Jewish organizations, looking at the

disorder and the threat in the Middle East, despite the recover from the pandemic. The adversaries

of Israel and its ally, the United States, remain extremely predatory. That is?

Yes, Malcolm, the Palestinian Authority has some new bedfellows, such as Saudi Arabia,

Iran, and Hezbollah. Can you help untangle that relationship for us?

Good old you, let's try, no.

Okay, so you're absolutely good for us, so it's good to be with both of you, and it's,

you know, you're really citing what makes it so difficult for many people to understand

what this is really about. What we're seeing in terms of the changes, the shifts, and yet so

much more of the same, where there are at least a dozen potential conflicts with 19 different

Iranian-backed players, and all sorts of subsidiary groups, and with a scorecard being necessary

to figure out the sides. So if we look at what's happened, Saudi Arabia announced it's going to

send an envoy to the PA for the first time ever, but it won't be resident, it's actually going to

be the ambassador to Jordan of Saudi Arabia, who is going to be also the ambassador to the PA

and the consul in Jerusalem. The Palestinian Authority did not welcome this very warmly initially,

because they feared that this was really just a cover for them for Saudi Arabia, then to recognize

Israel at least to begin some sort of a deal, as you know, which is being discussed with the US,

extensively, and the US is pressing Saudi Arabia on it. I don't believe that it's very imminent,

but I do believe that it is possible that there will be some sort of an understanding. They are
