Hello, here is your second episode of Newscast for Tuesday,

because there's been an update on the situation in the Middle East.

Iran has retaliated against Israel after Israel attacked Hezbollah and

mounted an invasion in southern Lebanon and of course Iran are big allies and supporters of Hezbollah and

it took the form of nearly 200 missiles being fired from Iran into Israel

which if you were watching the news at the time sounded a bit like this.

So we'll get all the latest and what it means for the region on this extra episode of

newscast.

Earlier on today, this afternoon I was chatting to Leices duet and Frank Gardner and we were analyzing and reacting to the Israeli invasion of southern Lebanon and then there has been a response to that invasion and also let's be honest weeks of Israeli attacks on Hezbollah in southern Lebanon by Iran and

it's taken the form of more than a hundred missiles being fired at Israel.

So let's find out what it all means because I'm going to be

reunited with BBC security correspondent Frank Gardner who's on the line. Hi Frank

Hello again didn't expect to speak to you quite so quickly, but matters are moving very quickly in the Middle East.

I sort of suspected we might though. So, right, a few things to talk about. So the rocket, I should say missile barrage from Iran.

How would you describe that?

Well, in numbers it perhaps wasn't as big as the one they did in April,

but it was very serious indeed because it was 180 missiles,

many of which were ballistic missiles. These are ones that go up right up outside the Earth's

atmosphere and then come down at great speed. They take about 12 minutes

from between launch and arrival on target. Now almost all of these were shot down
