Hello and welcome to this short podcast introducing you to the new series of clinical podcasts on dogs and cats being brought to you by the Royal Rheatnery College in London, United Kingdom.

My name is Shailen and Jassani and I'm going to be your host for these podcasts.

I'm a diplomat of the American College of veterinary emergency and critical care,

and I work on the Emergency and Critical Care Service at the LVC Small Animal Hospital,

the Queen Mother Hospital for Animals.

So the idea behind these podcasts is to provide top quality and up-to-date information on small animal clinical topics in a relatively short audio format.

We're hoping to make the content useful for vets and nurses working in first opinion non-referral practice,

as well as for undergraduate and postgraduate students.

During the podcast, we will discuss a variety of topics, such as a rational approach to various presenting complaints,

a more detailed look at common diseases and so on. And the format of the podcast will basically

be a discussion between me and a guest expert from the Queen Mother Hospital. And the idea is to

try and make the discussion informal and conversational rather than too much of a rigid question and answer session.

The series will be launched around the end of March with three podcasts and then we will try to

add a new one every three weeks or so. You can get in touch after listening to each podcast to

ask questions or provide feedback as well as to suggest topics for future podcasts.
