0:36.0

week of July, our month of wonder. And I'm going to talk about one of my favorite and best

0:45.9

doorways to wonder. And that is animals, critters, and mostly my pets. So I have two dogs. And

0:55.8

there's almost nothing better for me than sitting down with a dog and getting really, really

1:01.1

still and taking a couple deep breaths and then really observing my dogs, being present to my dogs.

1:07.8

And if I sit there and let them snuggle with me and I snuggle them back and I notice their

1:13.8

whiskers and their sweet soft eyes and the way that they move their bodies and wag their tails,

1:21.4

often my whole system will pop into the state of like wow, what a beautiful creature. And it's

1:30.6

my form of wonder. And really, I mean, you could even think about the magic of animals,

1:36.5

the variety of animals. And really, animals are marvelous if you start to study animal facts,

1:42.9

like the crazy things that cats or dogs or snails or koalas can do, that will pop you into wonder as

1:49.8

well. And as I've been saying, wonder is a really marvelous way to look at the world through the

1:55.6

eyes of wonder. So I have picked a story today. It's the very first story from the Junkyard Tales

2:03.8

series. I mean, Junkyard Tales has a bunch of different collections in it. We've been writing it

2:08.3

for over a decade now. And this is the very first story we ever wrote. Actually, I helped write

2:13.7

the story. David and I collaborated and wrote the story together. And if you've not heard Junkyard

2:20.1

Tales stories, this is a perfect introduction. It's the very first story that sets off the entire

2:25.6

series of Junkyard Tales adventures. And hopefully it will draw you into a state of wonder

2:31.7

for the cleverness of the cat Benjamin Thompson and his amazing community of animal friends.

2:38.4

So listen in and find out what happens in the very first story of Junkyard Tales.
