Michelle O'Keefe loved driving that shiny blue Mustang.

It was a graduation gift and she'd earned it.

It's like she did everything right.

I think for 18-year-olds she was pretty well stirred in the right direction.

But something about that car, she saw it herself, like an omen.

The last three digits on the license plate were wanting something.

She was dead. That's at least code from homicide.

And something about a mother's intuition, the night she couldn't sleep.
