Hi everyone, I'm Jenna Bush-Hager of NBC's Today Show and The Read with Jenna Book Club.

I believe that books have the power to connect us, teach us, and transport us to worlds different

than our own. A good book can spark conversation, challenge our point of view, and inspire change.

There's nothing I love more than sharing my favorite

reads with all of you. Well, except maybe talking to the exceptional authors behind these stories.

And that's what I'll be doing each week here on my new podcast, Read with Jenna. I'll be

introducing you to some of my favorite writers to hear what inspires them to tell

beautiful, deep, and meaningful stories, like best-selling author Colleen Hoover.

I write because I have to. I think it's my therapy. It's what I enjoy doing. It feeds my soul.

I think I would be writing whether anyone read what I wrote or not.

The brilliant Amortolz. In my office, I have ideas for books which are written out on a

3-5 card. I have ideas for books which are written out over four pages in a notebook by hand.

But in some cases, I have multiple notebooks where I've been thinking about a story for a long period of time

and slowly building it out in greater and greater detail.

You could look at my resume and easily say, oh, look, you're living the American dream.

I am the absolute exception.

This does not happen to everybody. And the beloved Judy Bloom, I never dreamed,

never thought beyond, you know, I love doing this and maybe someday it will be published and maybe

someday someone will read it. Just like a good book, these conversations will leave you feeling inspired and entertained.
