investigative journalist Maggie Freeleng.

Murder in Alliance is a real-time investigation of the 1999 murder of Avan Lane in Alliance Ohio.

Though Avan's ex-boyfriend, David Thorn, was convicted of the murder,

evidence points to his innocence.

Now, 20 years later, Maggie and a team of investigators,

including Jason Baldwin of the West Memphis 3,

traveled to Ohio to track down witnesses, find new leads,

and try to figure out who really killed Avan Lane.
