Summary

Homegrown OKC is a new podcast from NBC Universal, Esmail Corp., and Western Sound. It's a podcast adaptation of Jeffrey Toobin's book, Homegrown: Timothy McVeigh and the Rise of Right-Wing Extremism. The podcast chronicles the political, historical and media-personality influences that radicalized McVeigh resulting in the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing. The Oklahoma City bombing seemed to come out of nowhere and then America found out who did it.

Timothy McVeigh. He had lost everything and laid the blame on the

federal government. He decides to avenge the death of water to him ordinary citizens.

The vastness of the crime scene was unprecedented.

I covered McVeigh's trial back in 1997,

and like much of the news media I focused on the crime. What I didn't see then

was that this story transcended crime, even terrorism and it told us something about our
