Hey, this is John.

And this is Tim.

We make a lot of videos here at the Bible Project, but before any videos are made or even written,

Tim and I first sit down and walk through a bunch of notes that he has, these conversations

turn into the scripts for our videos.

This is one of my favorite parts of this entire process of making the videos.

I prepare these notes after reading for a long time.

Sometimes the notes are waiting long.

That creates this opportunity for John and I to walk through these biblical themes, concepts,

or books of the Bible in a pretty deep way.

And then we are able to distill that into the conversation that becomes the script of the

video.

We have a lot of episodes on the podcast about all sorts of subjects related to the Bible,

things like understanding how characters work in the Bible.

We talk about that in our How to Read the Bible series.

For the most part, biblical narrators refrain from sermonizing or moralizing characters.

What they do is just set their choices in front of you and then you have to be the one

to evaluate.

We also examine a lot of themes in the Bible.

One theme that we did in the podcast of many is the theme of biblical justice.

For the prophets, what does true justice look like?

What does Mishpah and Mercy look like?
