He served with Seal Team 3 as a sniper, breacher, and a medic on two combat deployments in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

He received a bronze star with valor and two Navy and

Marine Corps Commendation Medals for his service. He served with Chris Kyle the

subject of the movie American sniper.

And he also starred in that movie playing himself.

Every war generates a few significant books for the Civil War and we talked about on the

podcast the Red Badge of Courage by Stephen Crane is one of those that just makes

soldiers who served in the war weep because it was so vivid.

I think the competition will be open for the Iraq war about which book will rise and give readers
