because the U.S. suffered through yet another COVID surge, one that did not have to happen.

The highly contagious Delta variant is fueling a rise in coronavirus cases in every state with

cases at their highest level since May, and one clear demographic group causing the spike.

Those who are not vaccinated, only 49 percent of the United States is fully vaccinated for

those eligible for the vaccine, those 12 and older. It's only 57 percent. The most severe outbreaks,

not surprisingly, are happening where vaccination rates are the lowest. Just three states,

just three. Florida, Texas, and Missouri accounted for 40 percent of all the new cases this week.

We've heard some heartbreaking stories of intensive care unit patients begging for the vaccine,
