Hello, everyone, and welcome to the Next Best Picture podcast, where I am being joined right now by the director, co-writer, and all-around impressive feature directorial debut for Ronan Day Lewis for anemone.

Ronan, thank you so much for joining us here today, man.

Thank you so much for having me, man. Well, I got to tell you, uh, just on a selfish personal level, thank you so much

for bringing your dad out of retirement, uh, or self-imposed retirement, whatever you want to call it.

We're all very appreciative. But beyond that, man, you did not decide to do an easy one for your first feature film.

This was not some Brooklyn meet cute story or some independent family drama with nice feels.

You went dark, man, and ambitious.

And I respect the hell out of that.

Thank you so much, man. Yeah, no, it was definitely, um, it's in some ways a pretty intimate

story, but it, it does have scope and it was, um, yeah, it was a, it was quite a experience.

So when talking with your father, because he's a co-writer on this with you, I imagine you guys have been talking about this for quite a while.
