We do have an interview episode today.

This is with Kelly Funkhauser of Consumer Reports.

Kelly is the head of Connected and Automated Vehicles at Consumer Reports,

as well as the Program Manager for Vehicle Usability and Automation.

As most of you know earlier in the week, Consumer Reports posted an article on Smart Summon,

sort of their initial thoughts on the feature.

I shared some of my thoughts on that on Wednesday, October 9th, and Consumer Reports reached out, and they were interested in having a broader conversation on Tesla and going into a little more detail on Smart Summon, as of course was I. So I want to thank Kelly for taking the time to do that with us today.

Kelly did express to me too after our conversation that one of the reasons she wanted to join the

podcast was that some of the more positive comments on Smart Summit didn't really make it

into the final article and she wanted to give a little more credit to some of

the implementation behind Smart Summon. It may not necessarily come across that way

from our conversation but I think that's due to my

angle of obviously coming at a very pro Tesla which doesn't end up leaving a lot of

room there for Kelly comparatively so I did just want to acknowledge that and

though we do disagree at times during this conversation,

I just I really want to express appreciation for Kelly taking the time to do this because I think conversations like this help everyone develop

their own understandings and hopefully learn a little bit as well.
