1:12.0 | You know, I'm so curious how you kind of morphed into this top selling author and helping people |
1:16.2 | find their vision, finding their voice. But how did you start out? Well, I had a very, very comprehensive |
1:23.6 | strategy where I was supposed to be a plastic surgeon and then gave that all up to work in fashion. So you can see how that worked out very, very well. Wait, wait a minute. How fun. Wait, wait, wait. Why did you stop being a plastic surgeon? I mean, I could never. I would pass out the blood, the tissue. Like, it's over. So I, in college, I was pre-med. And I was like, I am going to be a plastic surgeon, which by the way, now in my fifth decade, I'm like, that would have been a really good idea. But I, you know, I had an internship where I was like, I can't be wearing this mask all day with red lipstick. And also I don't want to wear clogs is generally how I felt. And I loved fashion. So I literally was like, I remember telling |
2:03.7 | your parents like, oh yeah, I'm not going to be a plastic surgeon anymore. I'm going to, I'm going to |
2:06.8 | work at a fashion magazine. And they were like, I'm sorry, what? But I did. I basically just |
2:12.3 | completely graduated with a degree in neurobiology and physiology and then went to work at Harper's |

2:22.8 | Oh, wow. Okay, well, I'm much more with you. I would, like the fashion magazine, the magazine world, the tabloid magazine world, now you're talking like my language. So I don't blame you. |

2:38.7 | And, you know, from there, I moved on to corporate fashion PR, working for Donna Karen for 17 years and then later on with Alison Olivia. |
