Dr Yousaf is a GP who works in prisons, in substance misuse and with the homeless community.


He was shortlisted for the Bath Flash Fiction Prize 2016, commended for the Faber & Faber FAB Prize 2017 and won a place on the Writing West Midlands Room 204 Mentoring scheme and the Middle Way Mentoring Project in 2019.


Dr Yousaf's first book 'Stitched Up: Stories of life and death from a prison doctor', was released on July 7, 2022, and is available to purchase here:
