Well, howdy there, internet people? It's D again, and welcome to The Interstate with D.

Today is Saturday, November 16th, 2024. Welcome back to our trip on the interstate.

What we do here is present news from the state level that will end up having national importance later,

or news that made it into the national news cycle,

but was overshadowed. Then we go over some questions from y'all. On this date in 1907, Oklahoma became

the 46th state. Okay, and on to the news.

In Arizona, Ruben Gallego defeated Carrie Lake.

She didn't exactly concede, but did seem to acknowledge that she was moving on to the next chapter in her life.

Also in Arizona, a judge in a fake elector case has recused himself after alleged anti-Trump biased.

In California, people reported that a bear climbed into a Rolls-Royce and two other vehicles and damaged them.

There was a video of the incidents. The state now believes it was an elaborate insurance scam and that the bear was a human

in costume.

Charges have been filed.

In Colorado, there has been a moment that makes me wish I had an oddities section like everybody else on the channel.

The Democratic governor of Colorado celebrated the selection of RFK Jr. for Health and Human Services,

saying that Kennedy will, quote,

Help make America healthy again by shaking up his HHS and FDA.

I don't care where you are in the political spectrum, but that's got to be at least a little surprising.

In Georgia, the U.S. Justice Department conducted a lengthy investigation of the conditions at the Fulton County Jail.

At a news conference, the Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights said, quote,

Our investigation finds longstanding, unconstitutional, unlawful, and dangerous conditions that jeopardize the lives and well-being of the people held there.

DOJ made a list of recommendations for approval.
