Summary

The 76th United Nations General Assembly began on Tuesday, September 21 and controversy has already begun as world leaders addressed the implications of the COVID-19 pandemic, the strain placed upon the global economy, Afghanistan falling to the Taliban, and tensions between the U.S. and China. President Biden spoke at the UNGA and did not call out China, instead calling for international unity and cooperation to overcome the pandemic and climate crisis. Fox News Senior Correspondent Eric Shawn joins us from the U.N. to discuss the criticism of President Biden's speech, the Taliban’s push for UN recognition of their Afghanistan leadership amid human rights abuses and how the U.S. is mending a rift with France after a controversial sale of submarines to Australia. Eric Shawn also details how Iran pushed to restart nuclear talks, the UNGA’s central theme of climate change, and the COVID-19 issues that arose from a lack of vaccination requirements. Facebook is under fire after a recent Wall Street Journal investigation revealed that the company has been shielding high-profile users from content moderation guidelines most users must abide by. Reportedly, regulations that would ban content for the average user have been essentially ignored for celebrities, politicians, and other elites on the platform due to Facebook's “cross check” system. On top of the revelations from the recent Facebook Files, shareholders have now filed lawsuits alleging Facebook and the government engaged in a “quid pro quo” The lawsuits accuse Facebook of overpaying $5 billion dollars on a fine from the FTC in an attempt to protect CEO Mark Zuckerberg from personal liability from the infamous Cambridge Analytica leak. Fox Business Network Financial Correspondent Jackie DeAngelis joins to break down how Facebook’s cross check system works and the ways that the company has adjusted its social media regulations and practices throughout the pandemic. She also takes a look back at the Cambridge Analytica scandal of 2015 and how the lawsuit alleging quid pro quo may play out. Plus, commentary from Pastor Robert Jeffress of the Dallas First Baptist Church. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
