Yoji Yamamoto, about his fashion philosophy.

Now, Yoji is one of those designers who is unlike any other in the fashion world,

and so interviewing him was a real honor. Now, I was a little bit nervous speaking to

Yoji because he's such a living legend, but he made me feel completely at ease, and several

times during the interview, he lit up a cigarette and stayed silent and reflected

and really thought about my questions.

It was unlike any interview I've ever conducted.

But it was worth it because I learned so much from his stories and his experiences.

But I wanted to start a little bit earlier in your career actually and learn a little bit

How did you first become a fashion designer?

I was born as the only son of war widow.
