biography correctly is one of the oldest established archaeological

Then you've written a major and extremely thought-provoking book, The Children of Ash and Elm.

Now, before we get on to that that I don't know how far the book has been

informed by the the big 10-year research project that you're leading on which I

think you're halfway through the Viking phenomenon project. Can you just tell me a little bit about that

and how this ties in with the book, if at all?

Yeah, it's part of an investment from the Swedish state

into kind of centers of excellence in different subjects.

And the whole point of this project was to try and figure out how what we call the Viking
