It is convention week and it's week one and tonight the Democrats, the PEPA at Kamala

Harris will make her big speech giving you that little timestamp so you know when we

are speaking, we are speaking before she speaks so far.

We've heard from Republicans, Democratic Socialists and everyday normal people and a convention

that started off arguing against a second term, more than for a Biden first term.

I'm Joy-Mai Steve Kornakki and we see national political correspondent in a student

of convention history and we'll talk to our ad spending guru Ben Kama-Sah.

I'm going to make us a bit smarter and help us understand just where this campaign is

actually taking place and maybe we'll talk a little Kanye West.

She's the Washington correspondent for New York Magazine and she has a big story out

that is just it's too deep, too thick for television.

It was meant to be dissected via podcast and it is a big deep dive she did on the Trump

campaign attempt to reboot.

Mr. Kornakki, let's talk about how this convention now just sort of is this the future?

Do you think we will never see a convention like you and I have been used to over the

last year decades of our lives?

Is this the start of something different?

I guess my view is let's see if there's a bounce.

If we were to look at polling next week and Biden were to have significantly moved farther

ahead of Donald Trump and you could really say there was a bounce here.
