Summary
For more than four decades, Marianne Williamson has been an influential spiritual teacher and leader of spiritually progressive circles. She is the author of 16 books, four of which have been #1 New York Times best sellers, including A Return to Love (personal note: this book - and Marianne - led me to A Course in Miracles over a decade ago, which transformed my life).
Marianne is also the founder of Project Angel Food, a non-profit organization that has delivered over 18 million meals to ill and dying homebound patients in the Los Angeles area since 1989.
In 2004, she co-founded The Peace Alliance and supported the creation of a U.S. Department of Peace. Marianne ran for the democratic nomination for the Presidency of the United States in both 2020 and 2024.
In this interview, we talk about A Course in Miracles as well as Marianne's new book, The Mystic Jesus: The Mind of Love.
Some of our conversation highlights include:
- how it serves us to understand Jesus not only as a historical figure, but as an inclusive, non-denominational inner teacher and a consciousness of pure love (which we can learn to cultivate in ourselves)
- how we've gotten so caught up in ego attachments, agendas, and conflict... and how to begin untangling from that
- what to do when we feel triggered, hurt, or offended by someone... without reactively going on the attack
- how to stop taking things personally and see the bigger picture (with some helpful anecdotes and illustrations from Marianne's own life)
- Marianne's inspiration for writing this book NOW, at this particular moment in history
