We're poised for an economic boom, the likes of which the world has never seen.

That was part of President Donald Trump's prime time address at the White House last night,

as he celebrated his administration's performance on the economy while blaming any issues on his predecessor,

President Joe Biden.

That particular approach might not go down so well with the American public.

65% of voters believe the economy is either not so good or poor, and 57% think Trump is more responsible for the current state of the economy than Biden.

But a bit of good news for Trump this morning, inflation unexpectedly cooled last month from 3% to 2.7%.

Now, many economists are urging caution in reading too much into this data because we don't know what the inflation rate was in October because the government shutdown messed with the collection of that data.

But economists were expecting annual inflation to remain unchanged,

and this could be seen as a boost for the economy.
