Summary

The Indianapolis Colts took Anthony Richardson in the Top 5 in 2023 with the expectation they will need to exercise patience as he develops. They did not do that and Richardson entered training camp as the underdog for the starting quarterback role to Daniel Jones. Now, after two weeks of camp, it appears Richardson is fighting back and may be the current favorite. In New Orleans, their quarterback situation is messy and a lot of that has to do with how the Saints themselves have handled it. This week, the Saints were giving first team reps to Jake Haener while the more talented Spencer Rattler and newly-drafted Tyler Shough backed up. This is illogical and it looks like a form of sabotage for the Saints. Finally, the Los Angeles Rams are dealing with a Matthew Stafford back issue, but it will not be a major problem come Week 1.
