Indiana, you have word of a 1600 year old synagogue in Burran.

Exactly.

In the Buram National Park near the border with Lebanon, we can imagine the Galilean

worshippers going there 1600 years ago to this very ornate and beautiful synagogue which

is being restored.

People can actually go there and you can imagine the entire structure as it was then.

They found many years ago a smaller synagogue going to sight with 2000 year old coins and

with other antiquities.

But this is synagogue which is really hard to imagine until you see it because it had

an upper floor in the lower floor which was very unusual.

It's going to go in conservation and renovation and people will be able to go through the

nature and park authority to visit the site.

It's a very complicated restoration but we well worth it for people to go there and see

this beautiful synagogue of old.

Indiana, this is hard to believe but after the Israelis defeated the Arabs in 1947, Egypt

especially someone associated with King Farouk hired Nazis, not just Nazis, SS Nazis involved

in the persecution of lots of people including the Jews.
