going to take us on a time trip.

Indiana, the old song, let's go fly a kite had an entirely different meaning 8,000 years

ago.

It definitely did.

And what we're talking about are desert kites and amazing discoveries that were made in

southeastern Jordan and in northwestern Saudi Arabia.

These are these kites were traps hunting traps where they would funnel and giant funnel

some of them running miles and therefore not depicted until you could actually see it

from above and get the full picture.

But they would drive the animals into ever small areas until they got to a central

corral that had pit traps and then they were able to hunters were able to kill them.

The first kites were constructed as early as 7,000 BCE and making them some of the largest

oldest large scale constructions from anywhere in the world.

But they also found these kites which were boom pints in both places in southern Jordan

and in Saudi Arabia which depict the desert kites in exceptional detail.

So whether they were used for construction guidance or some religious purpose or what

is not clear.

But these detailed descriptions gave hints to how where people could look for the expanse
