Can we talk about Senate Bill 11?

It is Kendall and Casey.

It's 93 WIBC.

This is a bill that prohibits minors under 16 from using social media without parental permission.

It passed the Senate and it now moves to the House for further consideration. It applies to all social media platforms, not just specific ones.

So if you have a minor under the age of 16 in your home, you'll have to

give permission before they can access sites like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok. But I'm curious,

are they very specific in the bill about exactly which social media apps they're talking about?

Or is it just a blanket, all social media apps? Well, this is an example of the government trying to resolve a problem that they have no

business being in, which is how you parent your kid.

We had this conversation with the adult website bill, which is still in court.

I have no idea how that's going to be upheld, considering you can view

pornography instantaneously on Twitter anytime you want, and that's allowed, but yet this one

specific website, the porn hub or whatever it is, you know, is not allowed. And this is the same thing,

where if you want your kid to be on social media,

that's your right as a parent. You dictate that. My kid is not going to have a phone other than

to make phone calls and text a handful of people. And we'll set the phone up to do that because
