Summary
On a day when we expected to be headlining with Azarenka’s win over Serena Williams, instead all the talk was of Indian Wells Tournament Director Raymond Moore’s astonishing comments about the women’s game, and a response from Novak Djokovic that reopened the equal prize money debate.
David Law and Catherine Whitaker review what was said by whom, and react to it. Does Djokovic have a point? Is it time the debate was put to bed by making tennis equal pay for equal play? Or is it just too depressing for words that equality isn’t simply seen as the right thing in 2016?
The wins of Azarenka and Djokovic are also discussed, as is the resurgence of Rafael Nadal.
In an exclusive interview, we also talk to Jez Green, the man that helped to make Andy Murray the physical juggernaut he is today, and who is now in charge of the fitness of 18-year-old German prodigy Alexander Zverev.

| 1:24.4 | I'm afraid by some astonishing quotes from the Indian Wells tournament director Raymond Moore. |
| 1:30.5 | Yes, if I sound a little bit depressed, it's well it's because I have a little bit depressed, |
| 1:36.0 | frankly. I expect you're going to read out a selection of what he says, what he said, I suspect |
| 1:42.4 | most people have heard in summary what he said, which was essentially that, well not essentially, he |
| 1:48.9 | said direct quote, women. Female tennis players have been riding on the coattails of men for a number |
| 1:56.2 | of years now and that they should get down on their knees every night and thank God for Roger |
| 2:02.0 | Federer and Raffa Alnadal. I was a bit. Yeah, just to give you the specifics of that quote in |
| 2:09.7 | its entirety, it was it was all held at a basically a normally innocuous media breakfast that they |
