Summary

Mets lose to the Nationals 5-3 on another inconsistent outing by Steve Matz. The lefty lasted 3 innings before handing it over to the bullpen in a game that took an eternity to finish!! Cano was sent to the IL, Rosario and McNeil are day-to-day and the Mets ran out a B-list lineup where the only players who could hit were named Conforto and Gimenez. Pete continues to look lost at the plate while hitting in the heart of the order and Dom Smith continues to sit on the bench in games where we could really use the lefty's prescience.
