Mad over True Crime. I'm your host Heather Ashley and today's case is another one that

was suggested several times in the beginning of 2020. This is the case of 29-year-old

Peyton Houston. Smalltalk sucks, so let's dive in. Peyton Houston was born and raised

in Trustville, Alabama and was a southern bell thrown through and she had the charm and

the wit to prove it. If you ever saw her, she had a smile on her face and she was going

to make sure that you left with a smile on yours too. She came from a big tight-knit family

with two brothers and a sister and as they grew up, their bond just got tighter and tighter,

which is one of the reasons it hit them all extremely hard when seemingly out of nowhere

after graduating high school, Peyton fell victim to a serious drug addiction and not

just any drug addiction, she was addicted to heroin. This was so unlike her, she'd always

been so happy and optimistic and it just seemed out of character, but her addiction got

really bad and her health went downhill really quickly. She actually wound up in the hospital

with endocarditis, which is an infection of the inner lining of your heart. It's not

uncommon among intervenous drug users because dangerous bacteria has an entry point right

into the bloodstream through the injection site and the broken skin around it.
