Hi and welcome to another episode of Deep State Radio. Today in the middle of the summer we've got a slightly

more intimate group over at the third floor sub-basement of the Ministry of Snark, we have David Sanger of the New York Times and Ben Wittis of the

Law Fair blog in our tiny studio there and in a tiny studio in New York City you have me.

And what I would like to talk about or start by talking about is the one subject we can't seem to get off of and

then I'll try to get off of it as we get further along but but that is the

swirl of scandal and headlines and hearings and is the with series of tweets that made it feel like he's sort of sitting in a corner in his

pajamas tweeting out at the world that he feels is sailing him. He attacked

his own attorney general. He attacked his own attorney general.

He attacked Republicans on the hill, he attacked the media, and the consequences of all of this are as yet unknown.

And also this is a week which at least had billed hearings up on the hill

with Jared Kushner and Paul Maniforth, the president's former campaign manager and the president's

son Don Jr. Just let's get the state of play. Let's just start with where we think we are

in this story right now. What the significance of, let's just say, the Kushner discussion is and then we'll move out from there.
