Hamdulillah, we are very

honored to have somebody here for a topic that

frankly is a very distressing topic. It is not the first time we have had this topic at Epic.

Hamdulillah, we've had the topics before of the same issue and that is raising awareness about

Dr. Afiyya Sidhiri and you're all aware that Dr. Afiyya Sidhiri has been given effective with the

life sentence 86 years. She has been in jail for almost 15 years now and her plight and story is

one that is global and frankly may Allah forgive us all that is a cause of shame for all of us and

being very honest here. It's a cause of shame for all of us that her plight has continued for as long

as it has continued. Allah musta'an. I cannot help but recall that once upon a time when one of the

leaders of India, Raja Dahir had taken some Muslim women or some of the pirates had taken Muslim

women as captives. The Umayyad Khalifa sent a message that you release them or else and Raja Dahir

did not do anything. So the Umayyad sent Muhammad ibn Khasim to India because there were women

that were kept unjustly and because he sent Muhammad ibn Khasim, Islam spread in those lands

on those women were freed and another lady in the time of the Abbasid was put in jail and she

cried out, where is Khalifa? Where is he? Why is he not helping me? And that one cry was carried

all the way back to Baghdad and the Khalifa was told that this lady mentioned you by name and he

felt such a surge of emotion that he made a promise to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala that he would not

allow a night to go by except that the process has begun and so he indeed sent an emissary and

sent a convoy and sent a delegation and sent an army to eventually free this lady. But those were

days of the past, what Allah musta'an, we are now in a time and a place where we complain to Allah

of our weakness and our incapacity to do more than just raise awareness and make dua, but insha Allah
