detail about his Dorset Garden, his inspiration behind the creative planting there and how to bring a

Now, this is wonderful to be able to talk to you about your garden. It's potentially

something that our listeners may not be aware that you do. How long have you been interested in

gardening? Has it always played a part, a role in your life? The answer to that is yes. As far as I can

remember, indeed I can remember in my father's garden

when I was about four, I had a little patch that was all my own. And I started growing things there.

So it's a love affair that goes back a very long way.

And obviously influenced by your father. Was he a keen gardener too then?

My father and my stepmother both made wonderful gardens and I loved them. I responded to them.

I remember I used to get up very, very early in the morning and go and sniff the roses in the garden.
