Hey, this is Antonia Cérejido, the host of Imperfect Paradise from Allea Studios, the show about hidden worlds

So I really hate to take us back there, but I must, the year 2020. I personally spent hours and hours developing an

unusual attachment to my compost bin trying to individually solve what I saw as

the fundamental breakdown between humans and the land,

an actually a very cool hobby for very mentally stable women.

But safe to say, I was not the only person tackling some of society's largest existential questions

during the pandemic. One of the queries that was beamed across the fiber

optic cables that kept us connected in that time of social distancing was can we reassess our

relationship with work. It was a topic that during the COVID-19 crisis was

urgent. Tens of millions of people lost their jobs. The number of people teleworking or working

from home ballooned from just 5% of the population to over 50 over the year. And so logically, many of us were thinking of how to change our

relationship to our jobs, how we work, where, and under what conditions. This is a

story of a group of people who tried to reimagine their work lives.

It's about the gap between the dream and the reality of what work can be.

And a side note, for this story I spent one of the most surreal nights of my life.
