Moosh, I over-promised and under-delivered. I had a wine tasting Saturday night, which meant I was not getting up early to watch soccer.

Actually, I think you had an early preview of the victory because Spain won the World Cup, Women's World Cup won nothing,

and you pre-celebrated with some famous Spanish wine on Saturday night, I think.

That's right. I discovered at the ripe old age of 43 that I happened to love Rioja. It's wine that for whatever reason wasn't in my repertoire.

I didn't think that this was like an embarrassing thing until you kind of busted my chops about it before the podcast. Like, welcome to the world, Jill.

Well, I'm by no means a sommelier. I'm by no means a wine snob, but I think I discovered Rioja on a trip to Spain a while ago, like 20 years ago.

So I was like, oh, this is news to you. Anyway, either way, it was a very Spanish weekend between Spain's soccer victory, your discovery of Rioja, and sneak peak later in this pod, we will be talking about the merits of a Spanish Mediterranean lifestyle.

All right, let's get to it. Tropical storm Hillary made landfall over the Baja California peninsula on Sunday, pelting the area with intense rain and heading toward the US Southwest, where forecasters warned of life threatening and catastrophic flooding.

As of this recording on Sunday evening, we are already getting reports of at least one person killed in that storm in Mexico.

But this is a very rare event, a tropical storm over the United States Southwest and meteorologists have been warning people to take this very seriously.

Although Hillary had been weakened over the last 48 hours as it neared land, it is still set to be the wettest storm ever to hit the US Southwest that's according to the National Weather Service.
