Hello everyone. I'm so excited to share the ninth edition. Gosh, ninth edition of the I Hate Green Bean's

Summer Book List. We've got fiction, nonfiction, memoirs, romance, thriller, mystery, YA, faith-based,

even the classics. But before we get to the episode with my friend and avid book lover Rinell,

I wanted to remind you that if you're perusing the list and

there's an asterisk beside the name of the book, that means it's been nominated multiple years.

Therefore, the more stars beside the book entry, the more time someone has suggested that book

to be on the list in the last nine years. This year, though, the same

books kept popping up over and over and over again. So if you're one to appreciate third-party

endorsement as a reason to give an author your time, I'm going to rattle off a few right now that

made the list multiple times in this year's submissions alone.

The following are from just 2023. Y'all, we love our books. I'm so excited. We have seven. Here they are.

Carrie Soto is back by Taylor Jenkins read. That's a fiction. Demon Copperhead. Ooh, sounds scary. Barbara Kingsolver,

historical fiction. The Fourth Wing, which I'm currently reading right now by Rebecca Yaros. It's romance.

Happy Place, man that was nominated a lot by Emily Henry, which is a romance, FYI, Emily Henry books also nominated a lot this year.

The Measure by Nikki Arlick, which is fiction.

Nor goes off script, read it, loved it by Annabelle Monaghan, romance.

Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow by Gabrielle zeven fiction nominated a lot these are from

years before but they were mentioned again so many submissions this year lessons and chemistry by

bonnie garmus fiction the reading list by by Sarah Nisha Adams, fiction. Remarkably bright creatures that

one might have been nominated the most by Shelby Van Pelt, which is fiction, and Verity by Colleen

Hoover, which is a suspense. And just for kicks and giggles, here are the four that have been

nominated the most in the last nine years.
