basketball podcast. I got Matt Norlander here with me and it's been a while, a couple of

nights since we last recorded Villanova Lost at Providence, Kentucky Lost at Auburn,

Purdue Lost at Wisconsin, Ohio State Lost at Penn State, St. Mary's Lost at San Francisco.

Norlander, congratulations. I'll never have him to wake up and rank basketball teams

every morning because it has been a pain in the ass over the past couple of days.

This sport has stumbled out of the bar. Got, got maybe a quarter mile down the road, tripped

over itself, gone headfirst into a ditch, lost its shoes and now it is completely beside

itself. There are so many results here on an every night basis that are making it so hard

to decipher any sort of tiered system for the teams right now in college basketball.

Top teams, teams floating in that 8-15 range, teams trying to hold on to their top 25 ranking.

Teams that are close to getting wins on the bubble, teams that we didn't think would be on

the bubble that are on the bubble. We've had a ton going on here and for any potential

new listeners welcome to the Ion College basketball podcast. We know that we tend to get more

and more people into the pod as we get closer and closer to March. We are looking at a very

intriguing season because since we had the selection committee reveal the top 16 teams

on their bracket last Sunday, almost all of the teams have taken a loss. Virginia, Villanova,

Cincinnati, Purdue is on a three game losing streak. The only team right now that is still in

relatively good shape compared to where it was on the seed line, where it believes it should be on

the seed line is Michigan State, which hasn't lost as a 25 and three and has a road game against

a week northwestern team on Saturday. But as we explained on the last podcast, Michigan State still

lacks the overall wins in quadrant one right now. I'm interested to see if a lot of these teams
