interesting college football rules change that impacts special teams that is coming

this season. Have you, have you read much about this? Have you read much about this?

Have you seen much about this over the last week or so since this came out?

I saw the rule change announced.

I didn't know.

I don't know what all goes into the exact rule change.

I just know it's being called the Notre Dame rule.

So I have a feeling it has something to do with trick plays and stuff like that.

Yeah, exactly. And yeah, I mean, that's exactly it, Marty Biagi, the old mad scientist with his,

with his trick plays and everything else. So it governs who is and isn't an eligible receiver when it comes to fake punts.

The rule targets pump formations that use what they call jersey number exceptions. And what that

means is players who wear numbers outside of the traditional offensive lineman range, which is between number 50 and number 79.

And, you know, like you'll, you'll see it.

Like you can put, you know, like a tight end or a linebacker.

I think, you know, like Jack Kaiser used to play, you know, in the middle there.
